Based in Bristol and famous for their world-renowned natural history TV shows, Films at 59 are a truely unique, family-run and employee-owned production company.

We were invited to spend 6 days filming with the staff: from kit hire to production management, and from finance accounts to IT systems.

Our aim was to capture the true spirit of the company, finding unusual anecdotes that show that whilst the work is so incredible, these guys don’t take themselves too seriously.

After speaking to 32 interviewees, mostly in pairs, we were able to cut 59 charming 59-second videos for their social media, each focused on a different topic. From “first day on the job” to “the importance of scheduling”, and from “celebrities in the office” to “the ghost”...

We also made them a special ‘Art of Foley’ film to reveal the magic of natural history sound design.
