KICKSTARTING A NEW COMPETITION
COMBAT ACADEMY SPORTS
CAS got in touch after seeing one of our short films. They asked us to create video and stills for a mixed martial arts competition designed to help young adults get fit and build their confidence.
With fast cuts and epic takedowns our treatment referenced the world of MMA. We wanted to strike a balance between showing the skill of the fighters and make sure the friendly style of coaching was obvious.
With Covid-19 compliant crew and talent in place, we shot both video and stills in a single day. We created an alternating shooting schedule that allowed the fighters to rest when needed and enabled us to continue shoot with minimal down time.
The film features a selection of the young, talented athletes who train at the gym. With precise controlled stunts we were able to simulate realistic competition fight scenes. The choreographer and coach Scott Mallon oversaw all of the action to ensure everybody stayed safe and comfortable throughout the shoot.
The result is an explosive but friendly introduction to the competition and the people that train at the Combat Academy for Sports gym.
We delivered a variety of assets for a wide range of social media platforms. Including videos for instagram, Facebook and the CAS website. The main video was further supported by a range of stills and animated Gifs.
"the team were amazing to work with. under strict covid-19 regulations everyone went above and beyond to create something really special. "
